EBP-Nor are out on an expedition with “Frøyanes”

Summer is here, and even though most of us are on vacation, some at EBP-Nor are still working on collecting more species for whole genome sequencing!

One of those out collecting species is August Minde together with Ervik Marine Research. They are now on an expedition with the vessel Frøyanes, where the crew is out to trawl for shrimp, while August is there to collect bycatch for EBP-Nor. The vessel departed from Tromsø heading towards the Norwegian Sea on July 1st and will be on expedition for 5 weeks. The ship has a fully equipped lab so that August has everything he needs to take tissue samples of what he finds and characterize the species. It will be incredibly exciting to see what August brings back to our lab here at the University of Oslo for further sequencing.
